My view is, (and always has been), that further residential development on the Island is ultra vires of Article 8 of the Human Rights Act which states that every person has the right to peaceful occupation of his property. Until the infrastructure, including road access, needs substantial improvement for this to be achieved.

I cannot believe the council are that crooked they are letting more homes be built on canvey island as when one of roads of island have a problem the place goes in to grid lock and if there was an emergency to clear island it would not happen and castle point council and government would be responsible for thousands of deaths

Canvey NEEDS a 3rd road off of it. Ideally one from the Point to Two Tree Island on Leigh to provide quicker access in to London Road and Southend which would draw a large amount of traffic away from Benfleet Station and Canvey Way but another road off the other end perhaps joining the A13 in some way would still be beneficial. Something NEEDS to be done!

Works on long road, Canvey Island today caused traffic to build up around the local area. From Raleigh, Basildon, Hadleigh. Hardly great for the environment.

We need this so desperately - one accident and we are at standstill its dangerous in an emergency for any service. More house = More cars!! Its only getting worse
