We, the undersigned, express our strong support for the full funding and completion of the Capisic Pond Enhancement Project in 2015. The historic, environmental, and recreational merits of this project are well-documented and were unanimously endorsed by the Portland City Finance Committee in 2014. Natural open spaces such as Capisic Pond, the largest body of fresh water in the City, benefit all residents of Portland and contribute greatly to our quality of life. We urge the Finance Committee, other members of the City Council, and Mayor to honor the commitments made in 2014 to complete this long overdue project in 2015.
