we live in a world where our criminals are treated better then our students. Criminals get 3 meals a day ,when there are children all across America being refused lunch at school due to lack of funds. No child should ever go hungry . all children should receive both breakfast and lunch at school for free regardless of family income. Some children depend on the food provided at school . It maybe the only food they receive all day and to refuse a child food is shameful . please sign this petition to help change how school lunches are provided and help these children be all treated equally an not go hungry. Thank you.

I was reading through the new comments today and honestly some of them are just brutal because no kid should have to worry about where their next meal comes from. I keep thinking about how people actually have the audacity to argue about budget cuts when we are talking about little kids who just need to eat so they can focus on their math homework without their stomachs growling in the back of the room.

I was looking at the screen and just realized how much this has grown since I started typing it out in my kitchen that one morning (my coffee was cold by the time I finished). It feels strange to think about how many people actually care about this issue because sometimes it feels like I am just shouting at a wall. People are actually listening and that is honestly kind of overwhelming in a good way.

Studies show hungry kids don't function well not retain information. This seems like a no-brainer. Free lunches and snacks for all Kids in school should be mandatory.
I think this a wonderful thing. My sister and brother in law struggle every day works had to take care of these family. Don't get any state help and they still say they make to much for my nephew and niece hot and breakfast at school. I think that is wrong all kids should be able to eat at school and not have to worry not have lunch or breakfast because there family is unable to pay for it. So I strongly believe in this.
I think this a great idea lot kids come families that don't have anything or parents just don't care..so I believe this a wonderful program..

I know what its like to be brought up in poverty, and struggle to pay for school lunch as a kid. If education is mandatory and free, then so should be school lunch. Saving A couple bucks a day can make a difference for a struggling family.
