Purpose
As UCSB students, many of us rely on public transportation, campus shuttles, and other alternatives to get around campus and Isla Vista. However, transportation options can become limited later at night, making it difficult for students to travel safely and reliably after studying, working, attending events, or spending time with friends.
We are asking the University of California, Santa Barbara to expand late-night transportation options for students, including extending shuttle service hours for the busses and/or increasing transportation availability during later evening and nighttime hours.
Students should not have to choose between getting where they need to go and feeling safe doing so. Expanding late-night transportation would provide students with more reliable options and make campus and the surrounding community more accessible after regular transportation services end.
Who We Are Asking
This petition is directed toward UCSB Transportation & Parking Services and UCSB administration, who have the ability to evaluate and improve transportation services available to students.
What We Are Asking For
We ask UCSB to:
- Extend campus shuttle service later into the evening and nighttime.
- Consider increasing transportation availability during especially busy nights and weekends.
- Evaluate student demand for additional late-night transportation options.
- Work with students to identify areas and times where transportation access is most limited.
Take Action
If you are a UCSB student who believes students deserve reliable transportation options beyond traditional service hours, please sign this petition and share it with other UCSB students.
By signing, you are showing UCSB that late-night transportation is an important issue for students and deserves greater attention.
Sign this petition and help us advocate for safer, more accessible late-night transportation at UCSB.
I think that late night transportation would create a safer campus environment.
