We the undersigned parents of Fortune Kindergarten existing students, are objecting to the latest school fees increase.
Having investigated Shanghai Government School fee requirements, we are convinced that the school fee increase cannot be applied to existing students and only to new students. We question the validity of the re-enrolment request form from the school and seek clarification on the wording for securing a position of continued school attendance for 2017-18 for our children.
The undersigned request an urgent meeting between the school management and representatives of this petition prior to the April 20 deadline and confirmation from the school that it will not unilaterally terminate the existing school roll until a resolution be negotiated.

April 14, 2017

The school management has not yet responded to our formal request for a meeting regarding the tuition policy. While this silence is discouraging, it confirms that our unified position on protecting the status of existing students remains both necessary and correct.

April 14, 2017

Reaching this level of support confirms that our concerns regarding the tuition policy are shared by many families across our community. This momentum provides a clear mandate as we prepare to meet with school management regarding the status of our children. Your willingness to stand together strengthens our position as we seek a fair resolution for all current students.

It's really hard to accept such a dramatic increase over a short period of time. If I knew about this before my kids enrolled, I'd have a choice. But now, I don't. It seems the current solution is more advantageous to you than to us. Have you considered other solutions?

The tuition fee of dongfang campus stays as same. They let parents choose if they want to join in EAL classes with two English teachers. Those choose EAL classes pay much more than regular students. Hongqiao could do the same.

It is unreasonable to increase tuition by 50%. It is more unreasonable to do it with little warning or chance to look at enrolling in other kindergartens. It is even more unreasonable to make it a blanket change that includes existing students.

+50% increase in fees for existing students is not in line with gov't policy. Many families chose Fortune 1-2 years ago for the lower tuition costs, as not all expat employers cover the costs of tuition. Now as these children enter their 2nd or even final year of Fortune kindergarten we are being forced to pay more than a 50% increase in tuition or the child will need to switch schools.

53% Tuiton fee increase is unreasonable. All companies aren't sponsoring Kindergarten, using that as an argument for the increase seems inappropriate.

Increas too dramatically, the fee will include club activities but not certain how much. My kid has been there for last 2 years and only one year to go for graduation but sudden increase school fee for the old student, I think it is not fair.

Same as other parents' comments, we need an explanation for the sudden increase.

It is unfair to impose a 50% increase in fees only for hongqiao campus but not other campuses.Ive heard dongfang campus tuition remains the same.
