Sub: Petition against 2016-2017 academic fee increase circular received on 15th Dec 2015.
This letter is to highlight the concerns of many parents whose wards are students of your school.
We as parents want the best for our children's education and probably that would have been the reason we chose Gems Millennium to shape the future of our kids. But we also are limited by other constraints like income when we take such decisions.
The fee hike notice given to all parents have literally given us lot of sleepless nights and worry.
Initially when the school started with the Ministry Approved fees, there were only very few students in the classes and on the next year GMS was forced to reduce the fees to 50% to attract the students. On the very next year onwards you had increased the fees to some nominal percentage which was fine for all of us. But the current increase is beyond the limit and it is turning to be out of our control.
You will surely agree that, our income does not increase in the same proportion and by same percentage as the fee have been hiked. The market conditions are already not very encouraging for the jobs and businesses.
By the time we received the circular from the school, the other options were almost exhausted. Now we all are finding it extremely difficult to either continue or change the school.
Also to add, none of the school in Sharjah is charging exorbitant amount as GMS is doing. The fee have increased from AED 800 per month to AED 1800 per month in just 5 years!!! Especially, the Last year and current year fee increase had been very high.
We want our kids to continue in GMS and hence we request you to consider this petition and do the needful.

Fee hike % in last two year is highest amongst all the schools in sharjah.Despite of knowing the market conditions in terms of jobs & Businesses which is not encouraging and still fee has been increased highly.
I support this petition. The proportion of fee hike is nowhere justified as it is not in line with the quality of education provided (no timely completion of portions and no revisions at all at higher levels) and much higher than the fee structure of other good schools in the area.
Greetings, My son is under your nurturing for the past 5year and we have planned his sister also to be in the same school. But this level of fee hiking really make us worried. Please consider our request and do the needful.
Fee hike does not match with the facilities improvements and extra curricular activities. 28% fee hike in a year is exorbitant. We request if the hike is gradual and correspond with the increased facilities.
We strongly feel this should be highlighted to the ministry as well, since the fee hike information is given towards the end of the year, which leaves many parents with little time to look for other schools and get appropriate admissions.

I agree, very unrealistic. but the irony is the term they use. "20% discount from the approved fees" instead of call it a hike the prefer to call it discount.. Mr. Varkey is one Of the Top billionaires in the Gulf, and still he claims he does not make profit.. Strange....
