The Flathead river is home to native Westslope Cutthroat Trout which are protected under the Species of Special Concern Act. Montana FWP needs to further protect these native fish by restricting the use of motors above Old Steel Bridge from april 1st to September 30. The trout have many non native predators to contend with already. Removing the pollution caused by jet skis and jet boats would further help the small population of trout. On the busy days of summer hundreds of people are enjoying the river exposing them to the dangers of jet ski and jet boat traffic.
40 miles of river south of the bridge and countless LAKES! We have one of the largest fresh water lakes in the entire country 20 mins down the road from old steel. Leave the river to non-motorized boats and floaters for recreational safety and the betterment of the ecosystem.

It is time for a law like this, before someone floating down the river gets hurt. Not to mention take the oil and gas out of the river and protect our Trout!!

HH is too far upstream to allow motors. Let's fix it.
