YES, I SUPPORT THE ROAD PACKAGE IN THE UPCOMING LEGISLATIVE SESSION!
Pass the $1.5 Billion Bond Bill and $500 Million General Fund Package to Fix and Maintain New Mexico’s Roads
Last year, the legislature provided only $65 million for statewide road construction and maintenance. That's barely 20% of normal funding levels. A bond bill that would have provided sustained investment died in the Senate on the final day, costing New Mexico an entire year of progress.
What’s in the package:
- $1.5b in highways bonds for long-term, stable infrastructure funding
- $500m from the general fund for immediate repairs, maintenance, and local projects
New Mexico’s roads are already in crisis:
- 30% of rural roads and 42% of urban roads are in poor condition (U.S. Consumer Affairs)
- 11th worst road system in the country (Federal Highway Administration)
- $5.6 billion in urgent, unfunded projects statewide (2024 TRIP Report)
NM leaders have pledged to address this shortfall in the upcoming session — but they need to hear from you.
Safe, reliable roads keep New Mexicans safe, support business, and strengthen our economy.
