The roads in Latham are dangerous and unsightly. Repaving is vital to the safety of our residents who every day swerve to hit potholes endangering fellow drivers or who drive right into them causing possible vehicle damage. It's also imperative that this initiative is done correctly the first time to avoid unsightly "improvements" that will not survive the next winter. Please sign our position so we can tell our elected officials to, "do it right, do it now".

The stories shared in the comments regarding vehicle repair costs and near accidents are constant reminders of why this issue requires attention. I am currently organizing these firsthand accounts to present to the town council so they understand the scope of the frustration felt by our neighbors.

August 21, 2018

Seeing this conversation grow confirms how many of us feel the same frustration regarding the state of our local infrastructure. This collective recognition of the problem is the first step toward demanding a more permanent solution from those in charge.

Meadowbrook rd and hay path need to be paved. The amount spent on patching potholes each year will soon surpass the cost of repaving.

Omega, Cimarron, Tornado, Citation, Harrowgate and Blackburn are all in horrendous shape. It’s been 24 years since it’s been repaved!

The Town should be embarrassed by the conditions of the roads. Patchwork is not the solution. The roads in the Omega/Citation area are a disgrace and in my opinion, negatively impact the home values.

The roads in Burns Whitney are a disgrace! Patch upon patch upon patch. It's clear no one in town government lives here, or else they'd be better maintained!!!

One of our newest roads, Wade Road Extension, is a perfect example of the lack of planning and quality by those in charge in Latham. Cobblestone would make for smoother driving compared to Latham roads.

71 miles after installing 4 new tires on my car, I hit a pothole as big as Texas on Boght Road, at the top of the hill leading to Dunsbach Ferry Road. It caused a bulge on the sidewall of my right front tire, and sheared the link pin connected to the tie rod, requiring repair.

Agreed. Wade Rd Extension was so bad and took so long to pave and yet other roads could have waited but were being paved. Doesn't make any sense.

Please develop a long term, implementable plan for road repair and maintenance. Thank you.
