We oppose traffic-handling decisions being made along US 64 west of Blythe Street without regard for our input!
US 64 serves as the main thoroughfare from Blythe Street in Hendersonville, through the Laurel Park Town Center, to points beyond. We oppose the current NCDOT design, and instead favor design considerations that enhance traffic movement and safety but without so much destruction of personal and business property as does the proposed NCDOT design.

Seeing 250 names on this list is completely overwhelming and definitely more than I ever imagined. You are the ones who turned this into something real because I certainly did not expect this level of response.

I truly never imagined that one hundred people would feel as strongly about this road as I do. This is entirely your doing and I am just so humbled by the response. Thank you for stepping up to represent our community like this.

I am honestly overwhelmed by how many of you have stepped up to insist on a better plan for our road. It feels like we are on the verge of hitting one hundred signatures and I truly believe this momentum belongs entirely to the people who live and work here.

Roundabouts are a very bad idea. Large semis travel on 64. Also there are a lot of old people that will have to use them and they will have trouble with their response time and their ability to make a decision when to progress. A turn out lane wherever needed or 3 lanes is a much better decision.
Rotaries or "round-a-bouts" have proven to cause many accidents. Coming from Hyannis, MA I can verify personally what happened. A divider was put down Barnstable Road leading from the rotary. This did not improve traffic flow, but caused a huge back-up especially in the summer and at Christmas time.
round a bouts are totally unneeded turn lanes would be totally sufficient round a bouts will back traffic up I drive truck and have seen many round a bouts some good and some bad I can say with confidence that this is a bad idea and will cause major traffic problems
Much much more research into the road situation has to be looked at. You couldn't in good faith start to build without considering the impact of the TOTAL project on the safety of our entrances both at Hawthorn Hills and Hunter's Crossing
The Town of Laurel Park is trying to usurp the rights and privileges of the 64W corridor residents in Hendersonville for its own selfish advancement. This should not be allowed. Residents of the 64W corridor need a strong voice in the future of their road.
No roundabouts!!!
This will destroy a historical area & toss people out of their homes without consideration of the people that live there.

roundabout, while progressive, are not the best fit for this location and will do more damage to the community and small businesses that NCDOT intends to demolish for their project. Obviously, a little more "thoughtful" planning is required.
