This is a petition to the King County Council asking for reconsideration of an ordinance change which would permit neighborhoods (fire protection districts) in unincorporated King County to create "no fireworks" zones. The current situation is that cities have the right to decide whether or not to allow fireworks on Independence Day, but unincorporated areas do not. The goal of this petition is to give neighborhoods local control through a voting process. If the ordinance is approved, it will take at least 10 petition signatures from elector-residents of each voting precinct within the boundaries of the no fireworks zone to set the issue for hearing. If approved, it will take one year before a ban can take effect.

My poor dog spends the 4th hiding under the bed shaking uncontrollably. It is just too much noise for three straight days every summer. People need to be respectful of others living nearby.

LETS DO THIS! My house is surrounded by dry trees and the idiots next door launch these things right next to my fence. Its a fire hazard waiting to happen.
