The decision has been made by Manby Lodge that all reception classes must isolate until Friday 23rd July. This means our children no longer have a proper end to their first school year and no preparation for year 1.
Isolation has caused most of our children to be confused and upset. Due to their age, they have little understanding of the situation and we are concerned for their mental well being.
We are requesting that Ducklings have a final day of school to give them a fair end to the year and help them understand that it’s the end of Reception and when they return they’ll be on year 1. Furthermore, we want them to say goodbye to their friends and teachers - just like the others years are able to do.
We are requesting that the final school session is after isolation (isolation ends on Friday 23rd July) and are happy with a half day.

Give them a proper goodbye! These kids have missed out on so much already. Its only a few hours to help them process the change. Please reconsider.
