The build up of silt and other debris above the 19 Arches is a major
threat to our town. If we are unlucky enough to have another heavy
rainfall, the entire lower end of the town and Ferrybank area are at
serious risk of repeated flooding.
This is a disaster waiting to happen and it has become obvious again
that Arklow is the poor relation when it comes to funding for this type
of work.

I have submitted a formal request for an environmental impact review regarding the debris accumulation at the 19 Arches. Local council representatives are currently reviewing the documentation I provided earlier this week. I expect a response regarding a potential site inspection by the end of the current business cycle.

the silt is getting worse by the month. its common sense to clear it out but the council just ignores the problem every single year.
