As many of you know 192 of Durham's most vulnerable seniors where made homeless yesterday after a fire ravaged
Fairview Lodge in Whitby. The new facility being built adjacent to this
property was originally to be completed in September of this year, but due to
delays will not be ready till January 2015.
The staff and residents
have been dispersed throughout Durham and are being warehoused in facilities
that are already at or over capacity. Our City, Regional and Provincial
Governments need to respond by having construction crews working around the
clock to finish their new home so these seniors can be returned to living
conditions that we would all want for our loved ones.
Many residents are scared
and confused and all they owned in the world is gone. Please help today by:

Thank you!!
This is disgusting! These seniors deserve better at this point in their life! They are the ones we can thank for where we are now, and this is what they have to live with now? I'm sure if the owner/ operator's mother or father was one of the residents things would be different. This is not personal to them so delaying this job is actually just that....a job:( so sad
