My son had her last year and she was the first teacher to actually get him excited about reading. This is a huge mistake for the school.

Ridiculous decision by the board. They clearly don't listen to the actual families in this district.

I just don't get the reasoning behind this. She has been so supportive for our family and the kids really love her class.

Please sign this petition to support Erin Brinks to extend her teaching contract. I am hopeful if enough parents come forward to support this petition - because we think she is an awesome teacher- that there might be a chance for this decision to be reversed and she will continue teaching at Gilkey. This is why I did not hesitate last night at the board meeting to share my personal feelings about Ms. Brinks and how impressed I was when she taught my sons.
Gilkey is our school, we are the community that supports the school, this is where our children spend 7 hours of their day.

THIS IS ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS. She is the best teacher at Gilkey and everyone knows it. Bring her back!!

I am sharing this - in short even if you do not know Erin - but you are a friend of mine on FB - please trust me that this is one of the most unjustified decisions by the district. This is even being said by an individual (myself) that believes tenure is not a wise decision. Wise up Plainwell Community Schools and realize there is a much greater problem within your district - I don't want to name names but it begins with an 'M' ends with an 'A' rhymes with Martha.
