As all of you may know by know, Arlington Public Schools has no intention of extending the second marking period. As it is evident that this is due to senior mid year transcripts having to be sent out by a certain period. Although this may be the case, counties in the area, for example Loudon County has a 3-4 day extension in their first semester due to the missed school day. Though APS can't control the weather and open school, the least they can do is extend the marking period. After missing 7 crucial school days, it would be a great service to the students.

The amount of feedback I am receiving from students confirms we need more time to catch up. I am currently working on a formal request to the board.

I totally agree, many counties have extended the period and it's only fair. The last week was missed due to the blizzard and that week is when kids attempt to get their grades up, we should be given time to get our grades up.
A lot of students, including me, are counting with extra days to give in homework,projects, quizzes,etc. Taking that from us won't just hurt us but will also depreciate the schools images, as many students will face themselves with unfair grading. We are not responsible for snowing.
I have numerous assignments that were due this week and are important in bringing my grades up, by not being able to attend school i am not able to turn them in and bring my grades up. I am a senior and this quarter is incredibly vital to me.
Please extend because I feel as if a lot of school was taken away in an important part of the marking period. Many of us really could use that time to improve our grades as we've been catching up on missing work over these snow days.
Every county that has missed this whole week has extended the quarter. Also, this is not just a burden on students but teachers as well. Rushing grades is not ideal!
I needed just a few more days to bring my grades back up, I would have turned in missing work and took tests to boost my grade higher right before the end of the marking period.
i think that the quarter should be extended because the things that were due this week could've helped my grade a whole lot.

I am not a student her, but I am the aunt of a student. Not extending the marking period is causing much stress to these students, and it is not necessary. Be human.......please extend the marking period because of the extraordinary weather conditions.
