Friends and neighbors — A few weeks ago, we received difficult news that Hunt Regional Healthcare was closing its emergency room in Commerce. This ER has been a lifeline for our community providing critical care for families, seniors, and workers when minutes matter most.
The Commerce Chamber of Commerce is deeply concerned about how this closure will impact not only public health, but also local businesses, schools, and our overall sense of safety.
We’re asking everyone to stand together and make your voice heard. Please take a moment to sign and share the petition urging Hunt Regional to reconsider or find a sustainable alternative solution.

I live in Pittsburgh, but my family lives in Commerce, my daughter is Type 1 diabetes and your ER has saved her life several times. My granddaughter has asthma and used your ER many times, they and all Commerce needs this ER. Thank you
Before closing, the citizens of Commerce and Quinlan should have been informed and a plan to adjust to the closures. Are multiple ambulances going to be available to take citizens to Greenville? Can the Greenville ER handle all the cases from Commerce and Quinlan as well as Greenville?
This er need to be open for those of which working in the dangerous job fields out towards cooper and paris most notably farmers because things do not often go wrong but when they do they are either greatly life altering or life ending
My daughter fell off her bike and broke her wrist last week. Instead of being able to go to commerce ER for immediate attention and help, I had to drive her 27 minutes to the ER in Greenville. My baby was in pain crying hard while I was trying to get her to help. Open Commerce ER back up!
We bought in Commerce for 2 reasons: 1. Close to our daughter's family. 2. ER local for my husband (early onset dementia), myself, and our children. Not having access, especially after a huge BOND just passed, is unacceptable. We need this.
The only hospital I ever want to use for myself as well as loved ones. :/ we need you! Can we do anything?
We need a true 24/7 ER in Commerce, not just an Urgent Care.

As an orthopedic trauma surgeon, for the past 30 years, I fully understand the importance of emergency care when a loved one has been injured. Seconds count when specialized care is needed, closing such a facility in a rural area like Commerce is inconceivable and unconscionable.
