As an orthopedic trauma surgeon, for the past 30 years, I fully understand the importance of emergency care when a loved one has been injured. Seconds count when specialized care is needed, closing such a facility in a rural area like Commerce is inconceivable and unconscionable.

It's insane to stop Emergency service for Commerce ER. With the population boom, this service is needed.

it's a horrible idea to close the Commerce ER with Commerce being home to East Texas A&M, a college that just became a NCAA Division 1 college and with students who need this ER especially with ODs & alcohol poisoning and injuries cause by college partying so it's important to have a ER to save lives, especially college age kids who party way too hard and get sick or injured from it, also not to mention this was the only ER to serve not only Commerce, but also serve those in Campbell, Cooper and Delta County, Cumby and parts of Western Hopkins county, and any other part of Hunt County where it's closer than Greenville, and Greenville is already problematic when it comes to going to the ER due to it being the main hospital in the county. thw worse thing about this decision is that HRMH would rather run hospitals and doctors office in a Rockwall County when the name of the Hospital has the county's name in it. do better, serve Hunt County, not Rockwall county, it's not called Rockwall Regional Healthcare.

We need the ER to reopen. Live in Cooper and have used the ER several times for emery health issues. It is close and has given excellent care.

The northern part of Hunt County needs the Commerce facility to be open. The wait times are reasonable and the staff goes above and beyond with great care.
