300 % increament not reasonable. At least Eldowas should consider gradual increment e.g 30% ,40% etc in phases. This will make individuals and crippling business sectors also to adapt gradually.
The ELDOWAS tariffs were not genuinely passed!! No all inclusive public participation done..we must go back to drawing board.fully partition rejection of the tarifs
Increment of water tariff must be realistic. Eldowas must improve it's administration, procurement, operational and maintenance efficiencies to recoup its losses as opposed to increasing the tariff to cover all these weaknesses/ outright thefts.
While a Kenya struggles survives with less than 1 dollar a day, ELDOWAS water bills have been exaggerated to exuberant amounts. Paying water for 40k & 60k in some households equivalent to 400-600Euro per month is highly ridiculous, even first world does not reach there. Soon oxygen will be payable if we let this happen. Say no to exaggerated bills!
The water rates increase of 300% is extortionate and punitive. It cannot be justified by Eldowas explanation that they want to raise money for capital projects. They should take a loan for that instead trying to raise it from consumers who are already suffering from heavy taxation.
Reduce the cost of water
The new rates will kill. Our rental house businesses and yet we pay rental income tax. There was no public participation before the increment.

This water bills by Eldowas is killing the Eldoret Community. From the 900-1000shs i was paying every month has shot up 3 times. I got a water bill of 3300 for August. This is ridiculous and ripping the Eldoret Residents.
