They actually listened and the fee structure is finally being adjusted to something that makes sense for all of us. I honestly did not think this would work out so well but here we are and I am just so relieved that our kids can stay put without all that …

In light of the announcement made by the Central Bank of Egypt on Thursday November 3rd, 2016 to officially devaluate the EGP, El Alsson parents are requesting from school policy makers to re assess fees policy impacted by the CBE decision and to investigate possible tuition relief solutions due to the probable fluctuation of the USD official rate. Currently school fees are expected to increase somewhere between 20%-60%, any increase at this point, and with what is going on in the country is basically unaffordable for most if not all parents.

This dilemma will never be solved if the school fees is related to the USD, it is just not possible for parents to start the school year not knowing how much the school fees will be.

This is a private petition between parents that value the school, we are not looking for any public interference or affect the school negatively in any way, we certainly do not want to cause any problems for our beloved school , we are just looking out for our children, and want to ensure they won't have to leave school overnight simply because their parents can't afford it anymore.

Thank you for your consideration and feedback.

I really need everyone to grab a few other parents from the group chats and send them the link right now because hitting five hundred signatures is going to show the board that we are not just a handful of worried families. It is wild how fast things are shifting with the currency and my head is spinning thinking about the tuition, so please just ping your friends so we have more weight when we finally reach out.

I like the school a lot but I cannot afford to pay Close to double or even 1 &half time this year's fees value . Really can't do this for the next 11 years for my first son or for my second when he join in few years.

All parents have financial obligations and made their calculations based on what the school posted in its blog in April 2016. An installment can not be increased by 50 % during the same year , specially for parents like me who have 3 chidren in the school.

It's becoming too much for us. Our salaries are not equivalent to dollars and it's not increasing with the dollar, it's actually decreasing with the new taxes so we won't be able to afford paying the increasing tuition.

The school has to split the fees , the majority to be paid in Egyptian pounds and the rest in $ according to the REAL need of this $ amount ...which can be max . 20 to 30% of the running expenses ... Thank you for your consideration

As school expenses and Egyptian employees, teachers, matrons salaries are all paid in EGP... then there is no reason to make school fees in USD
