Dearest,
Mr. Monti Hallberg - AISJ Superintendent,
Dr. Parwaiz Khalid - AISJ Chairman of Board of Trustees,
Mr. Forrest Young - AISJ Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees,
Mr. Walter Pena - AISJ Business Manager,
We, the Parents of your children at your esteemed School, The American International School of Jeddah would like to raise our concern about some spread gossips stating that The Counsel of the AISJ has decided to implement another tuition increase for the year 2017 - 2018.
As you are well aware of the current economic situation which is directly affecting all business sectors with lack of profitability and shortage in liquidity, extra measures are being taken in all companies by cutting all kind of allowances and bonuses. Needless to mention that many parents were affected by reducing their packages and eliminating benefits, moreover many are facing unexpected job loss with immediate action.
Such an increase will create a drastic burden on nearly all parents who were expecting a kind of a recognition from AISJ that tuition will be reduced to match the current economical situation but rather than that an increase will be added instead.
In light of the above, We the parents of all AISJ Students would like to bring to your kind attention this issue of and would highly appreciate that such an increase is put to a halt as it will really have a negative tuition increase which is coming in tough timing's in such an sluggish economical slowdown impact on all of us and might lead us regretfully think of choosing an affordable school needless to say what negative psychological effect it will have on our kids, your kids when we parents have to tell them that we are forced to change your school simply because WE CAN NO MORE AFFORD PAYING FOR IT.
Hence, we are seeking your full understanding on the above and your usual full support by halting this increase and swap it with a decrease at least for the coming year.
We have no doubts of your leadership and professional understanding and support.
Thank you for your consideration and feedback.
Respectfully Yours,
AISJ Parents

I have been hearing from so many of you who are losing sleep over this financial weight. Your stories confirm that this burden is not just a concern but a real threat to our families remaining at the school.

Seeing so many of you come together confirms that my own anxiety about these impending costs is shared by families across our community. This momentum proves that we cannot be expected to absorb these increases while our households are struggling to adapt to the present economic reality.

I would like to request the school governing committee to reconsider the plan for tuition fees increase in 2017-18 given the fact that it will create pressure on the parents and eventually may negatively impact the children's education continuity in AISJ.
We didn't enroll our twins- who are in grade 5 now- in AISJ together with their brother because we couldn't afford the fees for the 3 of them. We love AISJ and would love all our kids to be enrolled in it. Please, consider the current economic situation and reduce the fees.
Both my children graduated from AISJ in 2015 and 2016.. But I support this because I know that we would have struggled with the school fees had it been any higher than it already was and eventually would have had to take them away from the place they grew to love and call their second home..
Agreed 100% time has changed in Saudi. 13000$ is too much high for a chiled in 5th grade !!!! Its equal for a university fees. To be honest im thinking to remove her as im not able pay all my saving onto the school fees.
Cost of living is increasing, economic situation is uncertain and I believe as a non profit organization with your responsibility to educate future generations for them to become global citizens this needs to be considered
This school fee is getting so expensive for no reason and we can't accept that
Plz reduce tution prices
