This petition concerns the dress code in the Stroudsburg Area School District. It is directed to all students and the families of students.

This is not about eliminating the dress code but rather amending to include some other options.

As adolescents, it is important to express ourselves. Right now, with the current dress code, students can only wear black, khaki, or navy bottoms. The tops are maroon, gray, white, and black. We’re not permitted to wear the same color on the top and bottom.

The reason that I have created a petition is to increase the color scheme of school-approved bottoms to include maroon and gray. Maroon is a school color, worn only on the top. Gray is also worn throughout the Stroudsburg Area School District, but only on the top halves of our bodies. Adding maroon and gray pants to the dress code will give students more variety and ways to show school spirit.
