The government has finally backed down and Douglas House will remain open for our residents. I am drained from this long fight but the relief is immense. We will stay alert to ensure these promises hold, but for tonight, we celebrate this win.

This place is a lifeline. Absolute disgrace that they want to shut it down to save a few pennies.
Please dont close it. these people deserve better than just being dumped into the community without the right support.

Keep Douglas house open! The care they get there is second to none. My heart goes out to all the families dealing with this stress.
My cousin lives there and she has never been happier. You cannot just move people around like furniture. Leave them alone.
