Skylarks is a popular centre that has been open for 30 years and that provides holidays and breaks for disabled people and their carers.
It holds a lot of memories not only to the guests and carers who come there but to the volunteers that help and the staff who work there.
It provides that essential time for disabled people to meet and socialise with other people when they may not have that opportunity anywhere else, closing down Skylarks will deny so many people of that opportunity and it will also deny carers and volunteers the opportunity to make a difference to their lives.
The aim of this petition is to show the trustees, and hopefully convince them to over write the recommendation proposed to them and help us keep Skylarks open. If this is successful we will be able to continue in making a huge difference to lives of so many disabled people and their carer’s.

Five hundred people signed this and I am honestly just staring at the screen because I never imagined so many of you would care about Skylarks like I do. It keeps hitting me that all those memories shared in the comments are actually real and maybe just maybe the trustees will have to listen to us now because this is getting really big.

I was just looking at the count and saw we are creeping up on that five hundred mark which is just wild because I honestly thought it would take way longer to get this much attention. People in charge really do monitor these things and if we hit that milestone before the next board review I think it makes it much harder for them to just look away and pretend like this place isn't vital for so many families.

I just saw the counter hit one hundred and I honestly have to take a breath because I did not think so many people cared this much about keeping those doors open. It is honestly wild how fast this is moving and I keep thinking back to how worried I was at the start that nobody would even see this page.

Skylarks is the only place my daughter feels like herself. She counts down the days until she can go back. Keep it open.
I volunteered here back in uni and it was the best experience of my life. The impact this place has is massive. Save it.
My brother has been going here for years. He loves it so much and it gives our family such a much needed break too. Please dont close it down!
Seriously? Where are these people supposed to go now. Think of the guests for once.

THIRTY YEARS. How can you just shut something like this down? Just awful.
