Please help stop Tower House in Dutton Way, Iver Village from being closed. This is a sheltered housing unit providing accommodation for people where they can live in their own self-contained flats, or make use of the communal facilities provided. It is close to the local shops, bus routes, the village hall and Kings Church and the clubs both places run, as well as the Doctors Surgery, all of which are very important to the residents.
Many residents do not want the upheaval at this stage in their lives, nor do they want to move to somewhere that doesn't have such good community facilities within easy reach.
Please show your support for Tower House and its residents.

The scale of this response has reached the threshold required to trigger a formal review by the local council housing committee. I am currently finalizing a briefing document to attach to these signatures for our first scheduled meeting with the planning department.

With an aging population how can any sensible company think of closing sheltered housing. We need more nor less. This will only lead to more bed blocking at the local hospitals.
Tower House is part of our community, and enables residents to remain in the heart of a village that they have grown old with, and within easy reach of local amenities. Please don't remove this choice from the senior members of our local community. Instead invest and improve.
L&Q are paid a substantial sum each year by SBDC to provide appropriate services for the seniors in our communities. Just because it doesn't make them enough money is no reason for them to be allowed to close facilities down.
Sheltered housing in the centre of our village i.e. Tower House, keeps elderly residents in the heart of the village that many have grown up in and lived in all their lives. We do not want to loose the opportunity for "locals to stay local" in their latter years and still remain part of the community when they are less active. We'll be grateful for support one day!
Just at the point where they are adding shops in the village which would make it even easier for the residents of Tower House to shop they plan to move people further away. This is a ludicrous decision which has not been thought through. Please reconsider now.
Destroying a community of retirees is unnecessarily cruel. Please rethink.

Do not move these people but encourage more who are lonely to join them rather than stay isolated. Social Club and entertainment on site is amazing!
