We are social care practitioners in Ireland. We strongly feel that there is a need for an independent union to support social care practitioners within their relevant fields. Currently, there does not appear to be any such union, and we feel that this needs to be addressed. We believe that this union should be run by social care practitioners, for social care practitioners within social care.
We have found that health and safety in our workplaces are being gradually diminished, and we fear that our human rights are being eroded.
We are asking you for your help in protecting us, in order for us to be the best social care practitioners that we can be.

I agree with this petition their is a need for a representative body which can advocate for the pay and working conditions of Social Care Workers. The body needs to be independent of other agencies.
