A project is currently being pushed to add athletic field stadium-type lighting at Jeanne Hansen park (34226 SE Jacobia St, Snoqualmie, WA 98065).

Over the next few months, Snoqualmie City Council is continuing to prioritize & approve which capital projects will move forward. WE NEED TO ACT! Please continue to help spread the word.

If you do NOT support spending our tax dollars for lighting up our neighborhood on a nightly basis, creating more traffic & noise, NOW is the time to act. We must be vocal and let City Council know that we do NOT want these lights installed.

These lights would not only affect the surrounding homes and home values, but would have a negative effect on:

The Snoqualmie City Council is still pushing this stadium lighting project despite our clear opposition to the noise and pollution it will bring to our homes. I am talking to neighbors every day who are just as outraged as I am about our tax dollars being wasted on this nonsense. Don't let them think we are going to quiet down and let this happen.

The momentum behind this fight is shaking the arrogance of the Snoqualmie City Council. They thought we would just roll over but these numbers prove they have a massive problem on their hands.

Lights will not only change the character of the area but bring a lot more late-night traffic. Practices, games, and tournaments for older kids (and adult leagues) can easily go until 9-9:30 PM. After the games and practices, talks with coaches, parents, friends, teammates, etc., can easily go as late as 10PM. This will bring late-night traffic and noise to a quiet area changing the neighborhood.

No light at Jeanne Hansen Park. The day time games itself are making the life miserable on the game days with folks parking on BOTH sides of Jacobia Street, Nye Street and *almost* blocking the drive ways of Jacobia residents. The lights in the park will only make it worse. Please no lights ever on JHP.

Snoqualmie Ridge is a dark sky neighborhood and it is in our convenants so lighting up the park would not be in compliance and would breach the contract that came with our home and the home owners association.

One only need stop by the soccer fields at Preston mid-week. Lit up like an industrial area, cars everywhere and loud game noise and fans. NOT in our neighborhood.

When I was buying my house across the street and heard there would be a sports park, my question was, "there are no lights going in are there?" Absolutely not...lets keep it that way!

Spend the money on traffic calming initiatives that improve safety in our neighborhoods instead of these lights.

I live on Jacobia and strongly object to lights at Jeanne Hansen Park. It would ruin our dark skies and lower property values in the neighborhood.

I do not want these lights installed in Jeanne Hansen Park due to the cumulative negative aspects of increased light pollution and traffic.
