Councilman Withers finally crawled away from his ridiculous bill and abandoned the attack on our historic homes. We forced them to back down because we refused to let them destroy our city's culture for no reason. Stay sharp because we know exactly what kind of games the council plays.

Please sign this petition if you think it is erroneous that Councilman Withers wants to shut down all outdoor activities at historic homes locally, this includes weddings/parties and meetings at such local staples as Riverwood mansion, Ravenwood mansion, Travelers Rest, East Ivy Mansion, Cedarwood and countless others that fall under the distinction of being a historic home.

Events at these locations are beautiful and fun and actually help preserve the historicalness of these buildings. Passing this bill would cut revenue to the city that is currently generated by attracting out of town guests for destination weddings to these beautiful locations.

We don't know what the motivation behind this bill (BL2015-96) is but suspect it is a sinister plot.

Councilman Withers thinks he can quietly kill our local venues and hide the truth behind his ridiculous bill. We are almost at two hundred fifty signatures so get this link to everyone you know before he tries to sneak this through a vote.

This is ridiculous! A lot of historical homes make money off these events and help to restore it. The owners should be able to do whatever they want with the property in terms of events. This bill only hurts small businesses.

I have lived on the same street as Riverwood for seventeen years and all of the neighbors love Riverwood. We have no issues with noise and they are always considerate. We don't want to lose such an important asset to our community. Stop Councilman Withers.

Please do NOT shut down Cedarwood and other historic wedding venues. This is where my husband and I were married last year and it is the most magical wedding venue and they deserve to be open and continue making wedding dreams come true!

Do the right thing, please. Don't put these wonderful people out of business. You aren't just affecting the business but thousands of others who planned to have weddings there and the vendors who have future bookings there. This is a petty waste of the cities time. Focus on what's important.

I have done countless wedding hair and makeup at the wonderful Ceaderwood Mansion as well as East Ivy Mansion. This is unbelievable that someone is trying to stunt commerce in one of the TOP wedding destinations in the entire United States!

These venues are such a wonderful way of giving a historic home new life. They're considerate of their neighbors and took all the proper channels to bring their vision to life. To punish them now is insane.
