We the undersigned concerned members of the Vinalhaven Community request our town selectboard and town manager to:
1.) Convene an independent Committee to:
a.) Remove the Executive members of The Island Community Medical Center (ICMS) Board utilizing all means available.
b.) Investigate and report with transparency what is happening with our Community medical center, ICMS.
c.) Find out why and how the Bylaws were changed, not amended (as Required by Title 13-B Maine Non Profit Corporate Act) since the inception in 1946.
d.) To look at and ensure compliance with the original mission statement and bylaws as created by Dr. Earle and the Vinalhaven Health Council at ICMS’s founding in 1946
e.) To try to retain our highly valued healthcare providers
f.) Affirm that all FQHC, founding bylaw requirements are currently being met and have been met. Particularly the makeup of the Board
g.) To ensure that any and all proceeds of ICMS would be used only for the health, welfare and benefit of a 501c3 located in, on and serving the Vinalhaven Community
The silence from the board remains heavy but I am spending my evenings reviewing years of bylaws to find the truth. It is exhausting work to piece together these changes alone while they ignore our questions. I am not stopping until we get the accountability this town deserves.

Reaching this point has been a long and draining process. Seeing so many people recognize the gravity of the situation at ICMS gives me just enough fuel to keep fighting for our town.

The way they handled the recent staffing changes is a total disgrace to this island.

Why was some employees offered free rents & others no offer or help.
