We the undersigned urge the Barnstable County Commissioners and the Barnstable County Assembly of Delegates to take all appropriate steps, including public hearings, to address the concerns of the public relating to the past activities and stated intentions of the Cape Light Compact and the Cape and Vineyard Electric Cooperative:
· To eliminate obvious conflicts of interest in their administration and management;
· To ensure the integrity of county government and these related public entities;
· To promote, and to reinforce, the core democratic values of openness, transparency, accountability and public participation in government.

I keep hearing from people who feel like the bureaucracy is intentionally designed to hide how these decisions actually happen behind closed doors. It is honestly exhausting to keep digging when the answers feel so far away but the messages you are all sending me about your own frustrations make me realize this is exactly the right fight to be having right now.

I really thought this might just float around in the digital void for a while but the momentum is suddenly so real and it is honestly wild to watch. It feels like people actually want these public entities held to account as much as I do which is just such an incredible relief to see happening.

What are they hiding?? Total shadiness going on here. We deserve to know where the money goes.
