Fernbank family & community: Please consider joining Fernbank teachers and staff, the PTA executive committee, and the Fernbank School Council in requesting Superintendent Dr. Green appoint Joan Ray (current Fernbank Assistant Principal) as the successor to Jason Marshall as Principal of Fernbank Elementary School. While we are certain there are many qualified applicants, given the numerous changes our school community is undergoing, we feel the appointment of Ms. Ray as Principal would ensure leadership continuity within the Fernbank administration and staff and provide a level of comfort to the broader community as we all support the temporary redistricting.

Ms. Ray is uniquely qualified to be the incoming principal due to her understanding of the current Fernbank and her ability to shepherd the school into becoming the new, larger and more inclusive Fernbank.
No other candidate understands Fernbank's unique community and culture better than Joan Ray. Having her as principal will ensure that next year's transition does not affect the integrity of our school and what Mr Marshall has worked so hard to build.
Our Fernbank kids know, trust and love Joan Ray, and this is one huge reason why she should be our next principal. She's also uniquely qualified to take on a big change and challenge for the school. She has the knowledge, skills, experience and ability to exceed expectations!
Our family enthusiastically supports the faculty and school council in their recommendation of Ms. Ray. She will make an excellent principal and will provide needed stability in a time of change and uncertainty.
Ms Ray will be the perfect fit for the new principal role at Fernbank. I have been a parent at Fernbank for 10 years now and we have seen many changes. Ms Ray has handled them professionally and cares about the well being of our school.
Ms. Ray is incredible to watch with kids, parents and teachers and would be an incredible leader to support us through our expanded growth.
She is qualified to keep Fernbank on a continued path of excellence!

Joan Ray is the best choice to lead our growing school community. Her years at Fernbank as parent, ESOL teacher, and AP show ample evidence of her work-ethic, care, creativity and intelligence. Our community needs her as our principal. Thank you.
