LETTER IN SUPPORT OF STACEY M. BROWN FOR PERMANENT PRINCIPAL OF W.T. PAGE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
We, the school community and PTA of William Tyler Page Elementary School, are submitting this letter as affirmation of our unified, strong and vigorous support for Acting Principal Stacey M. Brown's candidacy as permanent Principal of William Tyler Page Elementary School. We respectfully ask that you take our support for Ms. Brown in strong consideration in the selection process.
Prior to Ms. Brown's arrival at Page, our school community endured a year of uncertainty and anxiety due to the unexpected leave of our principal at the beginning of the 2014 school year; a string of interim acting principals and; the eventual resignation of our principal two weeks before the beginning of the 2015 school year. Our school community was angry, demoralized, confused, anxious, but also resolved that we would not tolerate another haphazard process of leadership transition that would further jeopardize the success of our students, teachers and school. When Ms. Brown was appointed she immediately got to work building relationships with parents, teachers and staff and through her stellar leadership cultivated an atmosphere of stability, caring, effective problem solving and excellence that set our school on the right track and erased our earlier despair and replaced it with hope, confidence and pride.
Ms. Brown has demonstrated without fail over the past year that she is the best and right leader for Page Elementary School. As you consider candidates for the Principal position at Page, we want to make sure that you are aware of our support for Ms. Brown's candidacy. We would be delighted if Ms. Brown was chosen to be the permanent Principal of our beloved school, so that she can continue to lead us toward our goal of becoming a world class institution of learning and a vibrant community of mutual support.

The school board can no longer pretend this community is indifferent about our leadership. We have built an undeniable wall of support for Stacey Brown and the people in charge are feeling the heat.

This is our 5th or 6th (permanent or interim) principal in almost as many years. Though my oldest will be gone next year & my twins only have 1 more year I would be remiss if I didn't put my vote in for Ms. Brown for my nephew and the rest of the Page children. She is a personable, no-nonsense, fair, patient, approachable & open minded leader. She fit into the Page culture effortlessly. I believe she is a perfect match. No to mention these kids don't need yet ANOTHER change.
As a principal myself, I firsthand understand how important relationships, school culture, and instructional leadership are to maintaining an exemplar school community. My experience with Ms. Brown this year has shown just that. I proudly and firmly stand behind Ms. Brown being named the permanent principal of W.T. Page Elementary School.
Ms. Brown has been undoubtedly supportive of the students, parents and staff of the Page community. She is completely dedicated to fostering a great learning environment for our children.
I fully support having Ms. Brown as permanent principal - I have been very impressed by her leadership in what could have been a very bumpy time as acting principal.
The WT Page students deserve consistency. Please keep the amazing interim principal, Mrs. Brown in place for our students/community.
Great leadership skills. She has put her heart into this job and would love to see her get it permanently.
Ms. Brown has been a terrific principal at Page and should stay in the role!

Ms. Brown is very visible in the school. As a parent volunteer, I have personally seen her attentively listing to a child to hear his concerns. She has made many changes in the school that has helped. For example, the town hall meeting is now every four weeks (instead of every two weeks). This allows both the parents to attend most of the town hall meetings. It has also reduced the time students have spent outside of class, not learning. Under Ms. Brown, the school's website is updated much more frequently. The twitter account is updated much more frequently. The bottom line is that she is visible, and the school under her leadership has done a demonstratively better job of communicating to the parents.
