Joan Ray has been working tirelessly in this community for the last 20 years. She bring a depth of knowledge as a master' s prepared educator and a school and community leader. Her empathetic and present leadership style is exactly what a school in a high level of transition needs to navigate the changes coming in the next years.

I cannot imagine a more caring and competent leader to guide and direct our school. I have known Ms. Ray for years, and she's been a fabulous parent, teacher, administrator and invested member of our school community through all the time my 17 year old and now (second child) 11 year old daughters have been at Fernbank or other area Dekalb schools. She is wise, pragmatic and fair and will balance the interests of both Fernbank and the county as a whole.

Joan Ray would be a fantastic principal for Fernbank. She has the overwhelming support of the community and is a fabulous leader.

Ms. Ray is an amazing teacher. She loves children and education. She will do great job as the principal of Fernbank Elementary.

The 2016-17 school year will be my 7th year as a Fernbank parent for my two sons, who will be rising 3rd and 5th graders. We've been through potential redistricting, passing SPLOST to build, the move to Avondale and back. As we move forward we find ourselves faced with more change, but there's one constant that's remained: our strong community of teachers, administrators, parents, and staff, and students. Joan Ray has risen as a leader in our community for a reason and I endorse her abilities, values and integrity.
