I, the undersigned am signing in protest of the fact insurance agents are not being paid a commission for the assistance & advice they provide. I also understand that premiums are filed each year, with commissions included in the calculation and question how they can be removed legally.
The unbiased information provided on plan options, networks and benefits is invaluable and consumers deserve the right to choose an agent or not!

Mistakes in the law should be addressed so that the agent pay structure is client centered. As more and more the payer is a third party, commission compensation ensures a sustainable relationship outside of the bureaucratic maze.
My agent is THE INSURANCE MOM and she has been instrumental in helping me my navigate the complicated insurance world. I don't know what I would do without her. She deserves to be paid properly for her work. I don't work for free and neither should health ins. brokers.
Making decisions as a lay person is next to impossible without the assistance of an insurance broker! We pay a lot for medical insurance and thus require an expert broker to make sure that we are making the most informed decisions. After all we are talking about our health!!!
My agent sorts my problems with the insurance company from time to time when I have them. Otherwise it would be me against them. How would I ever win that on my own? Independent agents are important for the consumer.
After spending 3 to 4 hours helping a couple they have decided they want United Health Care. So, I now get to enroll them tomorrow and make -0- ! Unlicensed navigators are making $, but not the licensed agents? Completely unfair.
I feel badly for all the individual's calling in re: high OOP cost's on their plans. It seems like ACA should have been for "Accessibility Act" not "Affordability Act". It's still unaffordable and effecting the middle classes in a way I've never seen
Brokers and Agents do lots of work we don't get paid for on behalf of clients. Reducing or eliminating commissions will cost everyone in the longer run.

The work we do to help consumers has increased with ACA and dealing with healthcare.gov From helping prove citizenship to showing they aren't in jail not counting how to find the proper plan. We can't do this for free
