Over 324 Canadian City, Town and Municipal Councils have declared a Climate Emergency and 8.5 million Canadians live in these jurisdictions. If you reside in Bridgewater, Nova Scotia please sign and have friends sign this petition asking the town to declare a climate emergency and work to transition to sustainable energy sources and zero carbon by the timelines established by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change and supported by 195 United Nations members.

I really thought this might just float around the neighborhood unnoticed but the momentum here is honestly overwhelming and kind of a blur. It feels like people are finally ready to have the real conversation about zero carbon and sustainable energy because they see how much is at stake for our town.

Bridgewater has already shown heaps of environmental leadership. This is another important way it can do that. We need all levels of government to understand action on climate change can't wait.

Bridgewater is doing great things with Energize Bridgewater.... but there's so much more to do!!
