Dear West Palm Beach City Commission,
As a business owner and stakeholder in the City of West Palm Beach I respectfully request the Commission delay the vote on the proposed sidewalk café permit fee increase resolution No. 87-22 for 30 days. I was not aware of the upcoming vote this Monday April18th until recently and would like an opportunity to have a merchant meeting to ask questions and give input.

I HAVE BEEN SPENDING MY ENTIRE MORNING CONNECTING WITH OTHER LOCAL BUSINESS OWNERS WHO ARE JUST AS SHOCKED BY THESE PROPOSED FEE HIKES AS I AM!! THE ENERGY IS ABSOLUTELY ELECTRIC AND THIS CONVERSATION IS FINALLY GAINING THE MOMENTUM WE NEED TO PROTECT OUR LIVELIHOODS!!

THIS MOMENTUM IS ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE!! PEOPLE ARE FINALLY PAYING ATTENTION TO HOW THESE FEE HIKES IMPACT OUR LOCAL BUSINESSES AND THE ENERGY IS ELECTRIC!!

More Time to review a change in fee structure - also an update on how will the new fees better the experience of downtown - will the money go directly to make the streets safer and cleaner?
Restaurants really don’t need anything thing else to go up in price…staffing is expensive, all food items are up, packaging it up, we are getting fuel surcharges. It is so incredibly hard right now the stress level is through the roof
This will hurt a lot of locals trying to afford to work in downtown
Think we should be part of decision process

With covid and inflation this is not the right time to start charging restaurants who were one of the hardest hit.
