This petition has been established to right the wrong for a longstanding steel plate noise issue on Wilson Boulevard at the intersection of Randolph Street in Ballston. This is a call to notify Arlington County that the loose steel plate issue needs to be remediated immediately. The constant, loud, booming and thunderous noise that emits as a result of motor vehicles traversing the loose steel plates is a public nuisance. The sounds are disruptive in nature to all those who reside in the surrounding community which includes residential apartments. It is particularly distressing for those residents who need to rest, sleep, and work from home. This has been an ongoing issue for many years. It is not acceptable for Arlington County to render its citizens such disregard.

Arlington County has fixed the loose steel plates before and is well within their means to secure them again. Please direct the necessary resources to permanently secure the steel plates.

Please help fix this. Our apartment faces the street of the metal plates and it’s so loud that it truly distrusts quality of life. Please fix it.

It would be so nice to not have to hear that sound and explain to visitors what the sound is.
