Subject: Formal Neighborhood Complaint Regarding Excessive and Repeated Noise at Night
We, the undersigned residents of the surrounding neighborhood, are submitting this petition to formally express our concern and frustration regarding the excessive and repeated noise coming from the SKAPS business facility.
The noise sounds like a telephone ringing repeatedly, over and over, and is extremely loud. It can be heard throughout our neighborhood and is particularly disturbing at night, when residents should be able to enjoy peace, quiet, and the ability to sleep in their own homes.
This ongoing noise has become a serious nuisance for the residents who live nearby. We are tired of having our peace and quiet disrupted by a sound that seems to continue repeatedly without relief. Our homes should be places where we can rest, sleep, and enjoy a reasonable quality of life without being subjected to excessive industrial or commercial noise, especially during nighttime hours.
We understand that businesses have a right to operate, but that operation should not come at the expense of the surrounding community's well-being. We believe that reasonable measures should be taken to identify the source of this noise and correct the problem.
THEREFORE, WE THE UNDERSIGNED RESIDENTS RESPECTFULLY REQUEST THAT:
- SKAPS promptly investigate the source of the repeated ringing noise.
- Immediate steps be taken to reduce or eliminate the excessive noise, particularly during nighttime hours.
- Appropriate soundproofing, equipment adjustments, repairs, or other effective noise-control measures be implemented as necessary.
- Local authorities investigate the complaint and determine whether applicable noise ordinances or regulations are being violated.
- SKAPS management and the appropriate authorities provide a response explaining what actions will be taken to resolve this ongoing problem.
We are asking for action, not empty promises. The residents of this neighborhood deserve to enjoy their homes without constant, disruptive noise. We hope that SKAPS and the appropriate authorities will take this petition seriously and work toward a timely and lasting solution.

OMG, that is the most terrible noise EVER! It is so annoying. I hear it EVERY day, and I live near the recreation center (duck pond)
I am concerned about the ongoing noise and strong odors coming from SKAPS in Commerce, Georgia. During the daytime, there are times when a horrible smell resembling burning plastic becomes noticeable in the surrounding area. The odor is unpleasant and concerning, especially when trying to enjoy time outside or get fresh air around my home. The combination of the persistent industrial noise and the strong chemical-like smell negatively affects the quality of life for nearby residents. Our homes
The noise keeps us awake at night.
I work in metal shop so the noise to me is normal but the smell is rancid. I hope it isnt a health concern for my family. We live 2 mins away.
It’s loud and creepy and unnecessary
Keeps the entire family awake and they burn plastic all night long.
Not only the ringing but the awful smell that comes from that place when the wind blows.
