It was promised to the student body of the organic chemistry 3B course that two testing opportunities would be given upon wich the better result of the two would serve to act as the semester test mark whilst the lower mark would then act as that of the second class test. The professor did not explicitly state that only under the conditions that the majority of students had done badly would he then count the better of the two tests as that of the semester mark. By going and choosing to negate the agreement that was made without informing the students is unfair and as an academic professional it is only right that the professor honor the original agreement and weight the better of the two tests as that of the semester test. This petition in no way seeks about disrespecting the professor whom the student body has the utmost respect for. This is simply an acknolwedment that those whom sign feel that it is unfair for the agreement that was made to be negated only once the first test had been written with no prior notice to the testing opportunity such that the student body could write in the knowledge that this test was the only test that would count as the major contributor to the overall semester mark. (I.e it would count as the semester test)
