As most of you may already know and agree, our Biology exam was very unfair. This was due to the fact that despite the Homeostasis Unit not being taught to us or assessed in any way, we were still made to write a formal exam worth 20% of our mark in which a very large portion included the Homeostasis Unit material. Now, based on a statement from the School Board that an "evaluation is based on assignments of learning that provide data on students achievement of strategic times throughout the grade/subject/course, often that end in a period of learning", we felt that is would be in our best interest to do something. We felt we had been assessed unfairly, due to the fact that we have had a very minimal amount of teaching on the Homeostasis Unit, and had been given zero assessments that tested out understanding on the unit that we had to fend for ourselves to learn for the most part. So, after discussing this issue with fellow students from both Biology classes, and getting input from adults outside of the classroom, we came to an agreement that it would be in our best interest to bring this issue up with resources in our school (V.P and Guidance) in order to hopefully come up with a fair and logical outcome that both parties can agree upon. If you feel that the you agree with the facts that we have just stated to you above, than we would strongly suggest that you join us by signing this petition to help get us the fair, reasonable result that we all deserve. Although, if you do not agree or do not feel comfortable with signing, than do not feel in any way forced or obliged, as you do not have to sign this petition.
