The county finally folded and passed the new tethering ban to stop this cruelty for good. Spartanburg officials tried to ignore us, but these 1,197 signatures forced their hand. We won this round, but stay sharp to make sure they actually enforce these protections.

This petition is to show support of changing the laws in Spartanburg County to protect dogs from being tethered all day in all weather. This petition came forth from a dog being tied up all day every day. The community witnessed this dog balled up in the lawn in 37 degree pouring rain. He has no means of getting dry & warm. This is extremely cruel and not necessary.

The amount of people backing this shows the county council that we are done watching these dogs suffer in the freezing rain. This momentum is putting real pressure on the bureaucrats who refuse to fix these broken laws. We have their attention now so keep the heat on them.

The Spartanburg County officials are ignoring the suffering right under their noses because they refuse to modernize these pathetic animal cruelty laws. I am tired of seeing dogs left to rot in the freezing rain while the authorities pretend this abuse is perfectly legal. We are going to keep forcing this issue into their offices until they stop protecting neglect and start protecting these animals.

The Spartanburg County officials are ignoring the suffering of these dogs while we wait for one hundred names. Get this link to your neighbors right now because we need to force their hand before another dog freezes in the rain.

Please do something to change the animal regulations in Spartanburg county. Tethering a dog is not ok! No temperature regulations is not ok! Tighten up on these Spartanburg! Your regulations are out of date and animals are suffering.

I have called animal control on this specific dog 5 times. He is still outside in terrible conditions. The last time I called animal control the officer said she knew exactly which dog I was speaking of and that he was fine. Such a sad situation!

I once tried to save a dog I saw every day in a neighborhood behind Walmart in Greer. Authorities could do nothing while the animal wasted away before my eyes. PLEASE CHANGE THE LAW SO THESE ANIMALS CAN BE HELPED.

This is abhorrent. If people are allowed to continue treating innocent, voiceless animals like this, can you imagine how they treat children, the disabled or elderly? The laws need to be changed. They are archaic and cruel, to say the very least. As a society we need to do better !!!

Please help stop cruelty in Spartanburg county. Dogs are freezing, starving tied to trees. I see them everyday. And when that dog dies, they tie another one to the same tree, same chain. It’s inhuman! It’s Torture.

I’ve seen this dog tied up in the pouring rain, the ground so saturated that the dog was sitting in a deep puddle. I called the police who told me to call animal control. I called animal control and they did nothing.

Please create a stringent law to protect animals from cruelty. From being chained and tethered day and night in good weather or bad. Protect animals that are abused and neglected by their owners. Do Ll you can to protect the animals. They are better off being put to sleep.
