Seminar is a one hour class every Wednesday, every week, for the next 4 years of High School. It is an hour that gives students a chance to prepare for their future endeavours in either college or the real world. It also doubles as an hour where students who seek help in some classes can reccive it from teachers. But, there is a down side. Every week, Seminar offers a new activity to all students. Seminar is also a pass / fail credit class. Every week, when handed an assignment, many students write down answers that may not make sense or choose not to do the assignment at all. They do this because nobody checks the assignment. As long as you finish it and have some sort of answer down, you get credit for the class. I believe this is extremely unnecessary and pointless for the fact that there is no point in assigning weekly assignments without making sure they are done correctly. So here is what I am proposing. Seminar is great in the aspect that struggling students can reccive the help that they need. But I believe the work is unnecessary. I believe that Seminar should be a class where students can work on other tasks, such as required core class homework, or help and tutor other students in their class that may be struggling. And if the student needs extra help, they can be sent to a teacher that can get them the help that they need. Seminar has potenital to be something great, but mainly for the reason that it can get students the help that they need, and the help that they deserve.

I agree because I also currently have 100% and I have only completed 3 activities... Seminar is a waste of time and very unnecessary.
I personally think that the way it is now, seminar is a class trying to waste our, and the teachers, time giving me credit for doing homework, when I should be doing the seminar work. I currently have a 100% passing grade despite not doing anything in class. Also seminar wants you to say good things about it, in the final assessment telling you to tell the school how it has helped you. I agree with this petition.
You're adding extra words which are not needed. Speak normally we aren't professors, I promise. It isn't world war 3. You will be okay. :3
This whole petition is not only written terribly, but is also very inconsistent. It states that it is great for students who are struggling and that it can help you make goals and prepare students for the real world. We're not asking for exact statistics and facts. But we are looking for some proof of where these examples are coming from. The statement that the assignments aren't graded or checked is a blind guess. The semester hasn't even ended yet and the could easily check them all at the marking period instead of grading them at your deadline. The petition is hard to take seriously due to the serious grammatical errors that were spewed upon the screen. The facts aren't backed up, the grammar is terrible, and the argument isn't clear.
It's funny how you say their is no points in what was stated. Yet you made a whole book repeating yourself with the same 3 sentences. Seems as if you wanted to say more to seem more sophisticated. lol.

I'm fine with a study hall or a time to check my grades, but please, don't make me checking my grades be for a grade. On top of that, the work that is assigned is repetitious. If signing the petition can stop me getting into a meaningless class, then I'm in.
