Just in case you are yet to hear, the speed limit along Highway 2 between Haig Rd and Burns Rd has been changed from 80 KM/H down to 60 KM/H.

If you feel the speed limit should be retained at 80 KM/H, please sign this petition.

Any and all support is appreciated!

I really thought this might just be me shouting into the void but looking at how many people feel the exact same frustration about that ridiculous slowdown on Highway 2 is honestly wild. It feels like the momentum is actually building now and maybe we can get those signs changed back because that commute has been driving me completely up the wall.

i see more potential accidents with the speed limit change. Many frustrated drivers trying to pass in unsafe spots. Someone tried to pass me at Mitchell cross road in the Lafarge turning lane on the corner!!

All this has done is created a cluster of road rage and a hot speed trap for the OPP. Not to mention the fact that there is enough accidents on the 401...so lets push commuters to use it more...DUMB!!!

this was temporary is their a high accident area I'm not aware of. To my knowledge secondary hi ways anywhere else are 80 in short what documentation was presented or study's performed to justify the change in speed limit or is this a back room deal made to appease a few voters form the resent municipal elections

The distance between houses on that section of #2 highway is great enough that the speed doesn't need to drop to 60km. It has been 80km for as long as the road has been there

I thought the lower speed limit was for the safety of the workerswho were redoing the road, now that it's done there's no need for the lower limit.

This is a detour route for the 401...you cannot expect people to travel at 60km/hr in an area that is not urban!!!

Got a speeding ticket on this road the day they changed it for doing 70km/h a $40 ticket and insurance jump for doing 10km/h under what the road has always been... Pathetic Belleville and you wonder why you can't raise money like you could 5 years ago
