I really thought this might just disappear into the ether but the momentum is suddenly everywhere and honestly it feels a bit surreal. My phone has been buzzing constantly with notifications and I hope everyone knows just how much this sudden surge means to me since I started this on a total whim during my lunch break.

totally agree. seen so many staff just scrolling while patients are waiting for call bells. need a strict policy on this.
My primary concern is the risk that cell phone uses poses to patient confidentiality.
I agree 100%. I also think that staff being responsible for keeping cords/electronic devices safe/clean/organized would be considered "MUDA" by TPS.
privacy concerns are real. you never know who is taking pictures of charts and that is a huge liability risk for the hospital.
As the infection control champion on unit I support this initative in regards to both privacy & infection control issues.
child and adolescent mental health
On the child & adolescent MH inpatient unit, cell phone use is not permitted.

Too many phones on the floor is a massive distraction for nurses when they should be focusing on meds. Keep them out of patient areas.
