Subject: Petition to Install CCTV Cameras in the Parking Area
Dear General Manager
We, the undersigned members of Planet Fitness Plattekloof, respectfully submit this petition requesting the urgent installation of CCTV cameras in the club’s parking area.
While we acknowledge and appreciate the recent addition of lighting and the regular patrols conducted in the parking lot, these measures have unfortunately proven insufficient in deterring ongoing criminal activity. There have been repeated incidents of vehicle break-ins, which have caused concern and distress among members.
We believe that installing CCTV surveillance would serve as both a deterrent to potential criminals and a critical tool for law enforcement should further incidents occur. The absence of recorded evidence hampers any investigation, leaving both members and authorities at a disadvantage.
Attached are the signatures of concerned members who support this request and are committed to working collaboratively with club management to enhance safety and security for all.
We trust that management will give this matter urgent attention and we look forward to your positive response.

There have been way too many reports of remote jamming outside of the gym. Cameras will definitely act as a major deterrent for these acts and as a woman, I would feel much safer leaving/entering the gym in the dark.
My IPhone 14 was stolen from my car in October 2023. I have detected many car jamming attempts since, which I have reported to reception.
One needs to look after ones clients in any form of business. Planet need to force this issue before they have a mass walkout. Everybody out in the gym world knows about the dangers of joining Planet Fitness Plattekloof. Do you believe that the numbers will grow with the criminal stigma attached? I believe not.
My car was broken into twice since I've been teaching at the gym. It's incredibly sad that there hasn't been enough done for this to be curbed. It scares me to think what needs to happen before these requests start being taken seriously.
Supported. Been a member of the gym since 2019/20. There’s never been security at the gym. Could also look at closing access from spar side and an access management system to parking.
CCTV to investigate. Security guard to prevent.
Please install the camera's, especially for people like myself that comes to gym with a baby.

Fully agree. Drastic measured needs to take place for safety and property of members paying a good amount of money to come detox, relax and release stress. Not add to it.
