The Acacia & Springhill Estate Residents are fed up with the growing rate of Thefts and attempted Thefts in our Estate!
Its time to make our voices heard to the Frankston City Council and formally request signage and street lighting upgrades to try and deter would be thieves in our area.
What do week seek?
Local Level
- Deterrent Signage - Informing ALL entering our Estate that CCTV is present. (It would be great to see 70% of homes have this)
- Upgrades to Street Lighting - Brighter Street Lamps to enable increased visibility.
State Level
- Increased Police Patrols during the night and early hours of the mornings - Most occurrences have been between 3.00am and 7.00am
Most of all, we just want the Thefts and attempted Thefts to STOP!
As you might already be aware, many residents have had CCTV installed, some more recent than others. CCTV has been beneficial in ways, however this has not yet proved to be an effective deterrent or efficient in helping the Local Police identify or apprehend any offenders.
As residents of our Estate, we ask for you support in signing this petition to ensure our cause can be recognised and a conversation started with our Local Police & Local Elected Councilors.

I have been hearing from so many of you who are losing sleep because of the activity in our neighborhood. I am currently compiling your accounts of these intrusions to present directly to the council members who need to see how much this is affecting our daily lives.

Seeing this kind of momentum brings so much relief because I know exactly how much we all need these streets to feel safe again. My own family has been living on edge for weeks and this support proves we are finally pushing back together.

We are sick of the constant break ins to vehicles in our once peaceful and safe estate. Personally, have had car rummaged through and also had to call police on one occasion due to 3 men trying to break into house (or at least up on our veranda making a nuisance of themselves at 3am).
As someone who lives in the estate and partner travels for work the growing number of thefts make me quite uneasy on nights home by myself
Council funded security patrols are an option to consider as I am sure police resources are stretched. What was once a great estate, is now a hot spot for theft. The reputation of the area will struggle considerably if this continues or escalates further.
My parents live at Peter chance crescent in the estate we were robbed when we where all sleeping inside the home absolutely terrifying.
I think we need to implement everything we can to keep us all safe. I personally felt sick when l found out my car had been broken into. Just watching him on our CCTV made me feel so vulnerable while watching it. We must all look out for one another.
Please more police presence, lighting up-grades, gated estate4 would be great
More needs to be done to protect our estate.

cctv would be a great idea for our estate. I believe that the amount of council rates we pay to live our estate should also warrant some sort of protection & safeguards to keep out unwanted thieves. Maybe we should look at becoming a gated community. It seems that there are postings on facebook nearly every day. It is getting ridiculously annoying to know that we may be next...
