We, the undersigned, object to the proposed redevelopment of 3358-3362 Carling Avenue from a single detached home to ten semi-detached homes. The intensity of this development is not compatible with, nor does it maintain or enhance, the residential character of Crystal Beach/Lakeview. This is the first proposed redevelopment of its kind in our neighbourhood backing onto privately owned bungalows. The proposed rear balconies are too close to existing properties - loss of privacy, sunlight, air movement, degraded air quality and the right to quiet enjoyment of existing property are the primary concerns. We suggest a revised redevelopment plan of a maximum of six semi-detached homes built in line with the existing detached homes on Carling Avenue would be more in keeping with our neighbourhood, retain some green space and still contribute to the City’s Official Plan objective of intensification inside the greenbelt to fully utilize infrastructure and other City resources.

The neighbors are reporting total silence from the planning office. We are currently compiling your concerns into a formal brief for the next committee hearing.

The momentum is undeniable now. Officials can no longer ignore the character of our neighborhood.

ridiculous density for this area. 6 houses is plenty, dont ruin the view for everyone else.

Keep the character of the neighborhood please. 10 units is just greedy.

10 homes is way too many for that lot. our streets are already crowded enough.
