Over the last year or so, myself and several of my friends have been subject to criminal activity in and around Manchester's Gay Village. Friends have been mugged, pick-pocketed and severely beaten. The worst area for this activity seems to be the square around the Bloom Street takeaways, Sackville Street Car Park and Thompson's Arms and Cruz101. Although these activities have been reported to the Police, the story is often the same - that the cameras are pointing the wrong way. Please sign this petition if like me, you love Canal Street and the surrounding area and would like there to be more security cameras to help make this wonderful part of the city safer.
