We, the one parents of Ireland reject the proposals that unfairly attack our children. This budget has reduced: (i)Fuel Allowance €120 (ii)Rent Allowance by €312 per year. (iii)BTSCFA by €50 a year. (iv)Forces parents to look for full time employment once a child reaches 7, without subsidising childcare (v)Closes CE schemes in practice to single parents,Which stops them accessing employment after years out of the workforce because of their childcare responsibilities. This Budget does not just unfairly attack a household budget that is already under severe pressure, but has also closed avenues to assist parents back into the workforce yet at the same time forces them into it, While rearing young children Single handedly. There has been no provisions to assist single parents with the huge childcare costs that is being foisted on them and therefore forces them into long term care dependency and therefore poverty status. Reproduction is a social necessity and many single parents have been left shouldering this heavy burden alone. Now the Social safety nets have been swipped from under mothers again and the necessary cost of social reproduction is being unfairly shouldered by the most vunerable in society. Unlike other groups, our caring responsibilities mean we do not have the time and means to exert political pressure and therefore have been unfairly attacked. We call on the Government to stand by the republican principles our constitution was founded on and treat all citizens equally. https://www.facebook.com/irishsingleparentsfightback https://www.facebook.com/events/129422247170088/

The exhaustion is setting in but I refuse to let this effort fade away while our families are being squeezed. Please send this link to a few people you trust so we can finally break through this threshold.

Families are struggling enough already. Stop taking money from the ones who need it most.

Enough is enough. We are doing our best and the govt just keeps kicking us while we are down.

Absolute disgrace. They have no idea how hard it is to raise a child on your own let alone with these cuts.

SHAMEFUL. My child is 7 and now they want me to work full time but where is the childcare aid?? Ridiculous.

Trying to get back to work is impossible without help. Why are they making it harder for us to look after our kids??
