Instead of delivering the change they promised the Fine Gael/Labour Government continues to implement Fianna Fáil’s ‘slash and burn’ policies across the education sector. This means more cuts to essential frontline services with Special Needs Assistants (SNAs) and specialist Language Teachers being particularly hard hit and bigger class sizes across the board.
The Labour Minister is trying to blame Fianna Fáil for these bad decisions. But the choice is his. He is in a position to honour Labour’s pre-election commitments and protect special education services and reduce class sizes. There are alternatives to going after some of the most vulnerable sections of society. The fact is that SNAs play a critical role in ensuring some of our most vulnerable children receive a decent education. Please show your opposition to the cuts that are being imposed on SNAs and other frontline education services by signing this online petition.
The momentum behind this petition highlights a collective refusal to accept the reduction of essential educational services for our children. It is clear that the government must address these concerns rather than continuing to shift responsibility for their policy decisions.

these cuts are absolutely shameful. leave the kids alone and find the money somewhere else. my son relies on his sna and he would be lost without that help.

We need to stop these cuts now. The children are the ones paying the price for the banks failures.
